To Finland by car: winter tires

In the period 1 December 2014 to 28 February 2015 in Finland winter tires for vehicles of all types is required.

Drivers of private and rented cars using the summer tires will be fined.

During the three months cars and cargo vans must be equipped with studded or studless winter tires. Also permitted use in the winter months season, or the friction of rubber – so-called stickies.

In addition to the mandatory period, motorists are permitted in Finland the use of studded winter tyres in the period from 1 to 30 November 2014 and 1 to 31 March 2015. The use of vehicles equipped with non-studded winter tyres in all areas of the country allowed during the whole year.
