Christmas season 2015 in Rovaniemi

Known as Santa Claus homeland, the Finnish town of Rovaniemi Christmas will open the 2015 season in November of this year.

15 November 2014 in Rovaniemi will host a themed parade, and will begin Christmas sales in major shopping centre Sampokeskus, and the official opening of the winter festivities will be held on Saturday, 22 November at 16:00.

Visitors to the town can enjoy traditional reindeer and dog sledding on snow-covered fields and forests, and for children on the first day of the winter holidays in Rovaniemi will host a colourful theatrical performance of a winter fairy tale.

Also on November 22, they will begin to work a large Christmas market where you can buy a variety of Christmas gifts, crafts, handmade toys, all kinds of winter sweets and delicacies. All fairground products will function special prices and coupon promotion.

After the official opening of the Christmas 2015 season, guests of the town will be able to go to Rovaniemi, located near the residence of Santa Claus – there goes a special bus (No. 8, departure from the railway station).

In addition to the themed Christmas attractions Rovaniemi has to offer tourists a variety of winter activities that are sure will appeal to both adults and children.

Here is a large ski centre, which will train and skate skiers of all ages and different fitness levels, there are interesting museums and various tourist objects.
