Underwater Museum in Lanzarote
Western Europe has got a new landmark — in Lanzarote, Spain, has opened an underwater Museum. Museo Atlántico became the first attraction of its kind in Europe.
Of the Atlantic Museum you can visit in the coastal zone Coloradas Bay. The exhibits of the underwater Museum created by British sculptor Jason de Caires Taylor, located on the sea floor (depth 12 to 15 meters), so you can see them both from special tour boats with a transparent bottom, so near — while diving.
All visitors to the Maritime Museum are 12 group installations and more than 300 unique sculptures. The themes of the exhibits touches on important social issues, including the problem of refugees, the impact of man on nature and the effects of global warming to the world.
The official opening of the underwater Museum in Europe was held on January 2016.
