The Viking Museum in Norway
Norway will open a new Museum — in 2020, will begin construction of a new building for large Museum complex dedicated to the Viking era.
The Viking Museum is located on the Bygdøy Peninsula in Oslo, the work will be completed by architectural firm Аart. According to the organizers, the new building will be of circular shape, and its area will be about 13,000 square meters, which is three times larger than the current Museum, which presents an exhibition dedicated to the history of shipbuilding of the Norman era. Old Viking Museum, which opened in 1926 after construction will move to the new building.
The design of the new building will be to assume the opportunity as quick seeing the exhibits and exploring the exhibits, and conduct tours for the different composition and number of participants groups.
The new Museum in Oslo will be opened with the support of the Ministry of education and research of Norway — since the project is of great importance for the history of Nordic culture funding will be fully provided by the state.
