Mobile guide for people with disabilities
10 Dec 2013 the organizers of the Olympics-2014 in Sochi has officially introduced a unique application for smartphones, which will be an electronic guide for people with disabilities.
The basis for the development of mobile application has become an Internet-draft of Fond support for people with disabilities «One country»and the Sochi 2014 organizing Committee accessibility Map.
As the press service of the organizing Committee Sochi, by using this mobile application users will be able online to get complete information about all the objects with the elements of barrier-free environment in cities and towns across Russia. For tourists and guests of the winter Olympic Games in Sochi, the app will be a guide on the available infrastructure of the city.
The project accessibility Map will become a reliable assistant for people with disorders of the musculoskeletal system, visually impaired and hearing impaired, and other disabled population groups, including young mothers with strollers and the elderly. Through the project, users will be able to choose the most convenient travel routes and the best available infrastructure.
The feature of this mobile guide that contribute to the development and content of the Card availability can be anyone. Now the development of the project active participation of Internet users, the volunteers of the Olympic Sochi 2014 and representatives of Russian organizations of disabled persons. In total, over the lifetime of the card (about 1 year) in the database of the project was submitted approximately 13,5 thousands of objects with the elements of barrier-free environment in more than 500 cities of Russia.
