Cyprus opened the ski season
After a heavy snowfall, held recently in the middle East, Cyprus, Eastern part of the Mediterranean sea and Europe opened the ski season.
Now in Cyprus, tourists can relax at the resort, located on mount Olympus, the highest mountain of the island, at an altitude of 2000 meters. The thickness of the snow cover now is between 20-60 cm at higher elevations. The temperatures average around -10°C.
The resort which is a nature reserve, the Troodos mountains, can offer its guests four ski slopes. Today opened two of them – «the Northern wall is 2» (lift Hera) and «Sun valley» (lift Aphrodite).
How much is a ski pass? Ski-pass in winter recreation center trodos for one day costs about €20. The cost of renting ski equipment: about €17 per day.
How to get there? Ski resort in the Troodos mountains is just over an hours drive from the seaside resort of Limassol and the island's capital Nicosia.
