Destination Rila - a new ski resort in Bulgaria
In Bulgaria, a draft of a new year-round ski area – Destination Rila, which promises to be one of the most popular among tourists from all countries of the complexes for rest.
This is French-Bulgarian resort will, most likely, in South-Western Bulgaria, near Sofia, between the village of Govedartsi and Sapareva Banya, Kyustendil region.
According to the project year-round ski resort in Destination Rila will offer nearly 155 km of ski slopes, Golf centre, aquatic center and 80 other entertaining tourist sites. According to preliminary information, the resort can accommodate about 200 thousand tourists per year (a total of all the ski resorts of Bulgaria during the year, the rest of the order of 330-350 thousand people). In Destination Rila also, the planned introduction of car-free zones-these zones are still not available for any Bulgarian resort.
The project has already found their investors – the international operator of ski resorts PGI Management, the French operator of restaurant chains and hotels ‘Accor Group” and a number of Bulgarian companies willing to invest in future ski resort. Bringing together French investors in ski tourism Association Cluster Montagne and a major French engineering public company Schneider Electric are also among the partners. The official cost of the project, announced today, — 550 million Euro. Despite the fact that the project Destination Rila is still under development, the preparation has already invested about EUR 1 million.
