The land of the Vikings: Norway will be Vikingland
In one of the villages of Western Norway plans to open the world's largest theme Park dedicated to the Vikings.
Investors expect that there will be a «rollercoaster» and rides, and a special “showstopper” for tourists will be the reconstruction of battles, feasts and theatrical performances.
The project cost is about 350 million euros (about 57 million dollars).
The design of the Park will be to develop the American company Itec, specializing in theme parks.
Says odd Erik Salvesen, project coordinator «Land of the Vikings», the year the Park will visit at least 300,000 tourists, because the idea is unique and nowhere in the world anything similar is not implemented.
The Park concept will be based on a giant tree from Norse mythology – the Yggdrasil, and the territory is divided into three sections: the land of the gods-Asgard, a Viking village and a forest zone.
Roughly of the Park «Vikingland» will be located close to the airport of Haugesund – near the village Avaldsnes, where, according to legend, buried Harald I – king of the first United Norway, or next to the existing Viking Museum near Fasana.
