Entry to Paris for old cars is denied
The city authorities report that from 1 July 2016, the entry into Paris for old cars will be closed.
Fall under the ban of cars older than 1997 and motorcycles older 1999 release, which includes petrol and diesel engines. These vehicles will not be allowed to appear on the streets of the French capital on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00. Violation of this rule is punishable by a fine of €35, and from next year the fines will reach €68 for each occurrence of an old car on the streets of Paris.
Also, the owners of old cars will be able to receive compensation from the municipal authorities for the abandonment threat to the environment vehicles — €400 for a single travel or the purchase of a Bicycle, a discount of 50% for the rental of electric vehicles or annual subscription to use the city service of bike rental.
According to Paris city hall, the ban will help to significantly reduce the amount of emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere and improve the environmental situation in Paris. According to preliminary estimates, by 2020, air pollution in Paris will be reduced by more than half.
