In Singapore, prohibit the use of alcohol in the evenings


In the Parliament of Singapore is considering a bill to ban drinking alcohol in the evening. This innovation was very positively received by the public, so the chances that this law will be adopted in this form, is quite large.

In the case of adoption of law about the limitation of drinking of alcohol as the country's citizens and foreign tourists will need to adhere to certain rules during their stay in the country. For violation of these rules penalties.

In case of violation of the ban on drinking alcohol in the evening, a penalty of $1,000 for a second offense the fine will increase to $2000, it will be added a prison sentence of up to 3 months.

According to official information, the new law introduces a complete ban of the noise, and sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in public places between 22:30 to 7:00. This definition covers city streets, parks and common areas in all residential complexes.

At the specified time the use of intoxicating drinks will be allowed only in restaurants, bars, night clubs and private housing, for example, in own or rented apartment.

The new law provides several exceptions for holiday dates, for example, for new year's eve and holiday events. Also it is planned to issue permits for some private parties, for events such as a barbecue in a city Park. To obtain such permission as Singaporeans and foreign visitors need to apply in municipal service.
