In Bucharest you can visit the Palace of Ceausescu

Romania opened to tourists historical landmark — now the travellers will be able to visit the former residence of Nicolae Ceausescu — Spring Palace.

The Palace complex has been closed for the last 26 years — after the overthrow of the Ceausescu regime occurred in 1989.

The Palace of Ceausescu, a former President of the Republic of Romania lived with his wife Elena, was built in the mid 60-ies of the last century. The residence has 80 rooms, wine cellar, private cinema and swimming pool and a greenhouse, which is now home to unusual tenants — the peacocks.

The interior and furnishings have survived almost intact, but unfortunately, the Palace itself is in ruins.

The cost of the tour ticket to the Palace of Ceausescu, is about 100 rubles (30 lei).
