For tourists who are planning a trip to Finland in February, we have just great news!

Over the next few weeks in 5 cities of Finland will host a series of exciting sports activities that will interest both adults and children.

Visit any of them during your tour of this amazing snow country and you can not only enjoy the fascinating spectacle, but also to participate in local athletic amusements.

Winter festivals of Finland in February 2015:

Imatra for two weekends, from 14 to 15 February and from 21 to 22 February 2015 in Imatra will host the world championship in skiing. Please note that 21 and 22 of this month there will also be ski sprint among young people. During the ski Championships tourists can also enjoy skiing adapted to riding scenic nature trails. Ski equipment can be rented on the spot.

Kuopio from 18 to 21 February on lake Kallavesi will be held already become traditional Finland Ice Marathon — speed skating marathon on natural ice.  

Finland Ice Marathon, which is one of the oldest winter sports events in Finland starts in the Passenger Harbor of Kuopio — it all starts marathon distance skaters. Sprint skating will take place at distances of up to 12.5 kilometers.

Ruka, Kuusamo municipality: From February 22 to March 1, the Finnish Ruka ski resort will be hosting a variety of winter activities for the whole family, which will be held in the framework of the annual action Winter holidays.

The family winter festival will be able to participate in day and night skiing, Trest drive of the new models of BMW cars and new models of snowmobiles, visit the tours to reindeer farm and take a ride on a toboggan sled. For children there will also be various contests, master-classes and active classes at ski schools.

Lahti cities: 21 and February 22, 2015 in Lahti will host Finlandia-Hiihto (FIS maraton cup), 42nd annual international ski marathon, to see that in Finland each year attracts thousands of travelers from around the world.

The start and finish of the marathon will happen at the Lahti Ski stadium. The distance Finlandia-Hiihto: 50 kilometers of skating and classic swing, and a 32 kilometer Tolkien classic course. Additionally, for marathon participants under the age of 16 will be given a separate 20-kilometer distance for skating.

Rovaniemi 21 and 22 February in the town of Rovaniemi, near which is the famous Santa Claus village, will host a 150-mile winter race for the extreme. Participants will be asked to pass this distance on skis, on foot or on fat bikes (winter bike). Everyone will be able to choose any of these options to conquer the marathon route. Along the winter route, which will pre-inspect to confirm the safety of the marathon, will be equipped with items for rest, food and heating.
