Underground Museum in Finland
In the center of Helsinki, Finland, soon will be a modern Museum complex, located underground.
He will be placed in "the Glass Palace" and under the square, Lasipalatsi in the Kamppi district.
According to the project of modernization of Lasipalatsi in the near future, almost the entire architectural complex is doing a great branch of the art Museum of Amos Anderson.
The underground part will cover an area of about 2500 square meters. During the reconstruction so loved by the Finns "crystal Palace” will be created here excellent lighting conditions for art exhibitions.
The city authorities believe that after the works on reconstruction and restoration of the building of the art Museum of Amos Anderson in Lasipalatsi will annually receive approximately 100,000 visitors. For comparison: now the Amos Anderson Museum, located in a private house of the benefactor, is annually visited by about 40,000 people.
Today in the «crystal Palace” functioning media centre, cinema, restaurant Lasipalatsi, halls for exhibitions and a small shopping complex. After the planned reconstruction of the restaurant, a summer terrace and places of recreation of citizens will not be closed and will become part of the Museum complex. Will also be improved with the square with the white tower, located behind ‘the Glass Palace" - after reconstruction it will become more lively and attractive to tourists.
