A new national Park in Peru
In Sierra del Divisor (Sierra del Divisor), Peru, will create a national Park to protect the Amazon rainforest — the decision on creation of the reserve has been approved by the President of Peru Ollanta Humala.
It is reported that the tropical territory of the reserve will be about 13,000 square kilometres, i.e. it will allow to be protected from human intervention a large territory, tropical jungle of the Amazon to protect a variety of species of unique animals, birds, amphibians, insects and plants. In addition, in the National Park Sierra del Divisor reside in the voluntary reservation of the local indigenous tribes Isconova for which the reserve will be a chance to preserve cultural identity and will protect from outside interference.
National Park in Peru, which will be the last link in the protected area «the Andes-Amazon», will exceed in area the total area of the national parks Yellowstone and Yosemite in America.
Visitors to the National nature reserve of Sierra del Divisor will be able to see during the tour 38 species of mammals, including jaguars and tapirs, 33 species of primates, most of which lives only in these areas, 365 species of birds, 300 species of fish and 3,500 species of tropical plants.
