The Maria Callas Museum in Athens

In 2015, the Greek capital, Athens, will open a Museum of Maria Callas-the great diva of the last century.

The initiative to create a Museum in memory of the famous singer belongs to the Greek mouseeven Erato Koutsoudaki-Gerolympou and Andromachi Gazi.

According to the organizers of the exhibition, during tours of the new Museum visitors will learn a biography of Maria Callas and hear many interesting facts about her life and the story of her rise to stardom.

the Museum will be located personal things, jewelry and concert costumes of Mary, her portraits created by great artists of the last century, as well as some works of art dedicated to the Golden soprano of an Opera diva. Also here is a large collection of photographs of Callas, including those images that were not previously known to the General public, letters, audiovisual recordings of her performances and interviews.

All of the Museum premises are styled and designed in the form of theatre. Each tour will be accompanied by recordings of Opera parts performed by the famous La Divina — the voice of the singer will sound for all visitors during the entire stay in the Museum.

At the Museum dedicated to Maria Callas, will run a café for visitors and a small gift shop. The total area of the Museum complex will be about 1000 square meters — a new attraction will be located in Athens four-storey building, designed in the neoclassical style.
