Short-term visas for Russians in Singapore cancel

In the near future it is expected the signing of an agreement between Russia and Singapore on the abolition of visas. Now citizens of Russia will be able to stay in Singapore for 72 hours without a visa.

Now Russian citizens can stay in Singapore without visa and registration of any additional permits within 96 hours, but only if the transit stay. If Singapore is the ultimate point of tourist travel, visa required.

The cost of a visa to Singapore for Russians now is about 1600 rubles, will also have to pay a service charge in the amount of 850 rubles. The maximum period of continuous stay in Singapore on this visa is 30 days.

Visa-free regime between Russia and Singapore will apply for tourists, business travelers and participants of the youth exchange programs. The decision to introduce visa-free regime between Singapore and Russia bilateral agreement will be worked out, according to the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, until may 19 — the official date of the visit of the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.
