Kaluga is included in the «Golden ring of Russia»
A popular tourist route called "Golden ring of Russia” added another town — 19 April 2016 Kaluga was included in the list of cities attractions.
The story of the ring tourist route to the most famous old cities began in 1967, when Yuri Bychkov, the Soviet journalist and writer, published a series of essays on ancient Russian cities, combining them into one General heading called "gold ring”.
Later this name became winged, and has been a popular tourist route through historical towns in Russia.

As reported in the Ministry of tourism of the Russian Federation, the areas of Kaluga should be space theme — the city known as the cradle of space, there lived and worked a famous scientist-theorist Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, there is also the Museum of the history of cosmonautics of Russia.
In addition, the Kaluga region, along with Moscow, St. Petersburg and located Moscow region, Star city will also be included in the new “space” tourist route, which will become part of the national programme of tourism development.
