Tulip festival in Kalmykia

From 23 to 24 April 2016 in Kalmykia will be held the Festival of tulips. The event will be held with the support of the Federal Agency for tourism of the Russian Federation.

According to Rostourism, during the festival in the famous Kalmyk steppes will work in a real Parking lot nomads — Haughton, where visitors will see the camp horses, sheep and camels look on traditional dances of the steppe peoples, listen to folk music and the famous throat singing, try a variety of dishes of national cuisine. Also, there will be sports games and competitions.

How to tell the organizers, the key role of the festival — attracting public attention to the problem of protecting the Tulip of Gesner (spruce), which are listed in the Red Book of Russia, and preserve the unique ecosystems of the Kalmyk steppes, which grow wild tulips.
