Star hotels will set new rules

2015 star European hotels will be awarded in new ways — evaluation criteria of hotels will be updated according to the current schedule change, which involves changes in requirements to the hotels every five years.

Now, to keep the existing position in the rankings, the owners of many of the hotel complexes will have to increase the list provided to guests services or improve their quality. Special attention will be given to the safety, comfort during sleep and have access to the Internet — these requirements was unanimously nominated by the hoteliers auditors — representatives of 15 European countries.

Now, for example, to correspond to the level of 2*, the hotel must provide its guests high speed Internet access; for standard 3* the norm is considered to be bed linen in the rooms 1 time per week, and for 4* — two times a week.

For 5* hotels sizes of rooms less than 14 meters, but for such a hotel complex will be penalized 15 points, the loss of which, by the way, hotels can be offset by additional services to offer: elevators, air conditioning, Concierge service, doorman and bellboys is worth 15 extra points.

10 points will get a comfortable lounge with Seating for guests, the evening training rooms to sleep or comfortable mattresses with a minimum thickness of 10 cm on the beds. Additional points are awarded to those hotels that can offer a charging station for electric vehicles, hypoallergenic, towels and bedding, fresh flowers in the room and some additional services.

Hotels 1* 2015 will be required to launch its own website in the Internet for acquaintance of visitors with relevant information about current services provided at the hotel.

Unfortunately, changes in the valuation rules hotels 2015 not decided to the situation with the Minibar, which is not the first year a matter of much debate. According to the requirements for hotels to estimate 4* hotel must provide mini bars in the rooms, but their presence automatically makes it a hotel of ecological status as mini-bars included environmental organizations in the black list.
