Visa regime between Kazakhstan and Abkhazia
From 1 April 2016, according to adopted in the Republic of Abkhazia new law a visa regime will be introduced between Kazakhstan and Abkhazia.
The bill provides for the mandatory visa to enter the territory of Abkhazia for citizens of all countries with which the Republic has not signed the intergovernmental agreements on mutual visa-free travel. Thus, a visa-free regime is maintained for the citizens of South Ossetia, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the Republic of Tuvalu, Nicaragua and the Russian Federation.
In addition, the simplified mode of entrance on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia applies to citizens of Ukraine residing on the territory of the South-East of the country (DND and LNR). To use a simplified procedure of crossing the border with Abkhazia such citizens must present a Ukrainian passport with a valid residence permit in the territories of the LC and the DNI or identity card of the citizen of these republics.
