Tax Free for tourists in Azerbaijan

The Republic of Azerbaijan is introducing Tax Free for foreign tourists — now the system is running in test mode, but from 16 July 2016 it will be introduced on a permanent basis. As reported «Interfax» broad amendments to the tax code have already been adopted and approved by Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan.

The Tax Free system in Azerbaijan will allow travelers to return 18% of the cost of goods purchased provided that the total amount of purchases is not less than 300 manats, and the goods will be exported from the territory of Azerbaijan not later than within 90 days from the date of purchase. If the specified period passes, the VAT refund will not be effected.
