The demand of foreign tourists in hotels Spain continues to grow

As the portal Spain in Russian, operated by the Confederation of Spain carried out a load study of Spanish hotels during the period July-September 2013.

For the analyzed three months of Spanish hotels were filled, on average, by 70%, which is 2% higher than the same period in 2012.

Of course, the occupancy rate of the Spanish hotels vary depending on the region – the closer the hotel to the sea, the higher the rate.

Perhaps the highest loading in the hotel industry in Spain during this period demonstrated a hotels, is located in Catalonia, in the South of Andalusia, the Canary and Balearic Islands. The hotels in these Spanish regions were loaded in an average of 85%.

Hotels of Galicia and Cantabria during the study period were filled, on average, 70%. In hotels of Basque Country, this show was a little below – it was 65%. Hotels in La Rioja, Aragon and Navarre from July to September 2013 was loaded on 60%, and Castile and Madrid hotels demonstrated loading of 55%. Among the Spanish regions with the lowest rates of occupancy demonstrate the hotels in the North of Andalusia, Castile-La Mancha and Extremadura – only 40%.

But among the Spanish popular resorts as well as resorts, hotels, which in the period from July to September was almost fully loaded. Around 90%, for example, exceeded the Ibiza hotels, Benidorm, Costa Dorada, Costa del Sol and the southern coast of Tenerife.

As noted by the representatives of the Spanish Confederation of hotel, hotels in Ispani now host mostly foreign tourists. But the share of Spanish travellers staying in Spanish hotels, is gradually declining.

It is noteworthy that the English and German tourists give preference to the Balearic Islands and southern Andalusia, and the French prefer Valencia, Andalusia and Catalonia. Italian tourists who usually visit Madrid and the Canary Islands this summer for vacation chose the South of Andalusia and the Balearics. And the largest number of tourists arriving in Spain on holiday from Eastern Europe.
