Railways tightens security because of the heat

Due to very hot weather in Ukraine Ukrzaliznytsia introduces additional security measures and reminds passengers about the precautionary measures while traveling by train during the hottest time of the year.

Administration Ukrzaliznytsia informs that passengers who have health problems because of the hot weather, may at any time ask for help to the conductors or to the head of the car – first aid kits and packages of first aid they must provide it upon request. If necessary, the head of the train can cause the ambulance to the nearest station along the route of the train.

Railway stations are clinics where you can obtain expert professional advice and medical care. Also before each departure on a voyage for all the passenger trains, conduct a thorough inspection of water supply systems, ventilation and air-conditioning.

In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia warns that safety during hot and dry weather, when the rails temperature exceeds 50°C, the speed of trains in the period from 12:00 to 18:00 hours limited. In this regard, some flights may arrive with a small delay.

To ensure the safety of railway passengers are reinforced inspection of railroad tracks, additional daily detours and detours of the routes. In the hottest time of the day, employees of Ukrainian Railways carry out all the relevant measuring temperature of rails every hour.
