Austria: the main train station of Vienna in the active mode

14 Dec 2014 all regional trains and long-distance trains that pass through Vienna, will make stops at Wien Hauptbahnhof, the main train station of Vienna.

The Vienna main station from the given date will make all flights in addition to daily mainline trains running from the Western areas: Salzburg, Innsbruck, Linz, Bregenz, Munich and Zurich.

These flights in 2015 (to 13 December) will arrive and depart from the Western station of Vienna-Wien Westbahnhof.

These changes train routes of the Austrian capital will allow us to adjust the schedule of trains and to extend the existing railway routes, the Terminus of which had previously been to Wien Hbf. For example, high-speed Railjet trains operating on the route  Prague — Vienna — Prague, now will be transiting through Vienna to Graz (route extended from 14 Dec 2014).

Renovated train station of Vienna, which replaced worked until recently, South station is, in fact, a completely new station that meets all modern requirements and standards. Wien Hbf has two underground tracks for commuter trains S-Bahn, and ten overhead branches for trains of other types, so that the routes previously serviced by different stations of the capital will be consolidated on one station. This will reduce travel time for many routes to change and docked for passengers much more comfortable.

In the station Wien Westbahnhof is valid a lot of different shops (including the clock), cafes and fast-food restaurants, an information center Vienna tourism office, Parking and point of sale tickets for public transport (for 48 or 72 hours). In the office of tourist InfoCenter free tourist booklets in different languages (there are 13 languages), a map of the city and coupons for municipal Parking.

The schedule of work of the centre: from 9:00 to 17:00 daily.

The nearest station is metro station — Südtiroler Platz-Hauptbahnhof.
