107 railway stations to provide wifi
Russian Railways reports that 107 railway stations of Russia secured access to Wi-Fi for passengers. From September 2015 to November 2016 access to wireless Internet there are 55 regions of the country on 79 stations, and later this month, this added to the list of railway stations in 28 cities, including Kaliningrad, Murmansk, Tambov, Rostov and Kursk.
As reported by Vitaly Votolevsky, head of railway stations Directorate, the creation of free Wi-Fi zones for passengers of Russian trains — this is a priority project of Russian Railways, therefore, already in the near future, wireless Internet access for visitors will appear in all 353 of the railway stations Directorate. According to statistics last year the number of users of wireless Internet at the railway stations of Russia amounted to more than half a million people, and the total amount of downloaded data exceeded 658 TB. The greatest activity of passengers is traditionally celebrated in the summer, during the peak holiday season, when volumes are downloaded by passengers traffic reach 60 terabytes per month.
Internet access at railway stations of the Russian Federation is ensured by the facilities of JSC «Company TransTeleCom». To connect to the Wi-Fi passengers must undergo a one-time authorization, then the gadget will connect to the Internet automatically at any Russian railway station.
