Jamaica: automated immigration control
In Jamaica, the airports had automated kiosks for processing biometric data passengers. Take the advantage of such a device can citizens of any country.
Now, travelers who arrive to the airports of Montego Bay and Kingston, will be able to quickly go through immigration control on arrival on their own.
According to PICA (Agency for immigration control of Jamaica), this innovation will significantly speed up the passage of control procedures.
The process of passing through such a checkpoint is no more than a few minutes.
The terminal makes a snapshot of the passenger, compares the resulting picture with a photo affixed to the documents and asks a few questions to answer that need with the buttons on the interactive screen. After passing the control the machine gives the passenger a receipt on successful completion of passport control.
At the moment both airports are already operating a total of 15 terminals for self-service passport control.
