In the sky only girls — the first female flight Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines, one of the largest loukost airlines in the world, on October 19, 2017 completed its first flight with a female crew.
The new Boeing-737 MAX 8, operated by a fully female crew of two pilots and four flight attendants, flew the St. Louis-San Francisco route. Photos of the female flight crew of Southwest Airlines were published in the official tweet of the air carrier before the flight, and this post was just over 23000 likes and about 4700 retweets.
Users of social networks highly appreciated this step of the airline, since such a composition of the crew in modern aviation is still a rarity. For example, according to the data of the non-profit organization Women in Aviation, women pilots with a valid license for civilian passenger transportation in the United States are less than 7% — only about 39000.
