Clever baggage tags from KLM

Clever

The Netherlands airline KLM has created an unusual accessory for its passengers — a smart care tag, which will become a virtual tour guide for tourists in Amsterdam.

The multi-function care tag is equipped with a built-in GPS module that autonomously identifies the passenger's location, and an audio system with information guide programs and a guide.

Tourists will be able to receive actual voice prompts and recommendations that will tell the owner what attractions can be visited nearby, will name the approximate cost of travel on the main city routes, will warn about the sections of the road with a particularly busy traffic and places where it is worth paying more careful attention to your things. Also, the owner of the KLM care tag will be informed of all the nearby rental locations for bicycles and boats.

In the first version of baggage tags laid down several hundred tips for tourists, voiced in English. As reported in the airline, in future the smart tag will be able to «talk» in Russian, German, Portuguese and Chinese.

Get care tag from KLM passengers will be able to free as early as September 2017, but for this you must first submit a special application to the airline. If you are planning to visit Amsterdam in the fall and fly this airline, you can contact the Online Ticket Service Manager for ordering an interactive care tag.
