Ukraine is promised its own low-cost airline
Already in 2017, Ukraine may have its own low-cost airline — this information was voiced by Vladimir Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine. It is expected that about 49% of the capital of the first Ukrainian loukoster will be made up of foreign investments, and not less than 51% of the funds of the Ukrainian side, which, according to the current legislation, will allow regional airlines to operate regional flights without any restrictions.
During the press conference on Channel 5, Omelyan expressed confidence that the budget airline will be registered by the end of the year, and by the end of 2017 the first flights within the country will also be performed. In the future, it is planned that the air carrier will carry out not only regional, but also international flights.
The approximate timeframe for launching a high-speed railway was also announced: for the creation of appropriate railway lines, taking into account the time for the search for foreign investors and the conclusion of corresponding contracts, according to the Minister of Infrastructure, it will take five to ten years. The project envisages the creation of a Euro-track on the routes Kiev-Odessa, Kiev-Warsaw and Kiev-Berlin.
