The cancellation of flights to Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Kharkiv
The night of 12 December 2014, the state aviation service of Ukraine has announced a ban on flights over the territories adjacent to zone of military operations: Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhya regions. Reportedly, the ban was introduced at the request of the Ministry of defense of Ukraine “until further notice”.
In the original information on the limitation of flights over the territory of the country it was stated that the ban on flights over the said part of the country was to last from midnight December 13 to midnight December 15, 2014. But on Sunday there was a message on the extension non-flying mode until Tuesday, December 16, with the clarification that these terms can again be moved.
According to official sources, complete the cancellation of flights to Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov and Zaporozhye at all altitudes affected only civil aircraft, and was implemented for security purposes. In this period, no passenger plane can't land or take off from airports located in the designated area and also fly through the zone closed for flights.
