New terminal in Faro, Portugal

New

Faro International Airport, located in Algarve, Portugal, has opened a new terminal that will increase the capacity of the air harbor — the airport's existing capacities were not enough against the background of the growing popularity of this tourist region.

The new terminal of Faro airport, the area of which after reconstruction has grown by more than 93 thousand square meters, will allow to increase traffic for 3000 passengers per hour. The expansion of the airport in the Algarve has also replenished the existing infrastructure with new security control zones. The cost of construction was €33 million.

According to the administration of the terminal, the creation of the new terminal will be only the first step on the way of development of the tourist infrastructure of the region and will allow to increase the volumes of budgetary air transportation to Portugal and other European countries.
