New entertainment for Qantas passengers

Innovative service will launch the Australian airline Qantas from mid Feb 2015: entertain your passengers during their stay in airports and during the flight, the airline will be using devices virtual reality — the Samsung Gear VR.

On earth, special video and audio headset plan to distribute in Melbourne and Sydney visitors Lounges and during air travel — passengers traveling in first class double-deck A380. Airports helmets Samsung Gear VR for passengers will be available in February, while on Board the aircraft they will be available only from mid-March. 

A three-dimensional image with a viewing angle of 360 degrees, created virtual reality glasses that will stream popular Hollywood blockbusters, panoramic views from outside the aircraft of video cameras in real time, information about cities of the route network and the services of the airline.

According to Qantas, this action is testing a fundamentally new infotainment services for passengers. The event is held airline Qantas, together with the local branch of Samsung. During testing of the new entertainment for passengers will be used only to flights between Australia and Los Angeles.

Testing the Samsung Gear VR. will last exactly three months, after which the airline will analyse obtained during the test campaign, the reviews, and on their basis a decision will be made about the continued use of such entertainment for passengers aboard aircraft and during your stay in waiting rooms.
