Germanwings will be closed

German airline Lufthansa announces the closing of its subsidiary, carrier — low-cost carrier Germanwings. It is planned that the company will cease to exist in the fall of 2015.

It is reported that the airline Germanwings, which runs short-haul flights now, will merge with Eurowings, a second low-cost carrier Lufthansa will deploy its brand.

If earlier, before the plane crash one of the planes Germanwings, Lufthansa has repeatedly voiced plans to rename its low-cost carrier, now the decision on inexpediency of existence in parallel of two budget airlines serving almost the same route grid became final.

Also in a press-service of Lufthansa inform that the cost of the tickets which are transferred by Eurowings routes of liquidated low-cost airline will remain the same.
