Aeroflot cuts portions

Aeroflot

Russian airline Aeroflot reduces in-flight meals for passengers travelling in economy class.

The decision about saving on food was adopted, as explained by the airline officials for a number of reasons: the costs incurred by the company after the introduction of sanctions of the EU, the termination of a subsidiary low-cost airline and the complexity of the development of civil aviation of the Russian Federation.

According to available information, the savings on food Aeroflot passengers will be implemented as follows:

From 1 October 2014 to flights whose duration is 1-2 hours, instead of a package of in-flight catering Tea (hot drink and snack box), the passengers will offer only a sandwich. Flights lasting from 2 to 3 hours instead of a cold lunch will receive a diet Tea.

From 26 October 2014, passengers on flights whose duration is 12 hours or more, stop to get snacks between the main power supply.

On flights with a duration of 7-8 hours the second onboard power supply (cold lunch) will be replaced by snacks. For flights with a duration of 6-7 hours supply of snacks which are now available to passengers after the Hot lunch, will also be canceled.
